Um, so I thought I wouldn’t like this, even after some of favorite critics said it was best pilots of the upfronts. But frankly, it was delightful. It was corny, and sweet, and more importantly mocking and sharp. Funny zingers, perfectly nostalgic, and really really endearing. I’m looking forward to seeing more of it, hopeful it gets a good season one run on FOX, but I don’t know how well that will work out. It’s got a complete cast of unknowns (unless you’re a theater nerd), I think the most well know cast member is Jane Lynch, who is still only famous to certain tv and film nerds. But on the plus side, there’s the act that it must be cheap to produce, the most expensive thing being of course, song rights. I don’t know what will happen, but i’ll enjoy this while I can.
