Okay we have the good, the bad and the ugly TV afficinados, let’s talk about our favorite bubble shows.
First: Chuck picked up by NBC for a shortened thirteen episode third season. Which is fine by me because I think condensing the show will allow it some real momentum that won’t be slowed by filler episodes and endless scenes of Chuck telling us he wants to be normal (I love you Chuck, but seriously, enough we get it). I’m excited for real ass kicking next season!
Second: Unexpectedly Dollhouse got renewed, another 13 if i’m not mistaken after some huge budget cuts by Joss and 20th Century, everyone seems to agree that it wasn’t fan loyalty and outrage, but the DVD presales that saved it.
Third: Terminator:TSCC is dead on Fox but might be ressurected in what I think is a really smart business model (at least for this show) straight to DVD. Now even though that sounds icky and like it’s gauranteed to be bad TV, it makes a lot of sense. Genre shows like Terminator, especially with the buzz from the cancellation watch and the movie, is almost a sure thing on DVD. So if you know that crazy fans (like me) are gonna go out of ther way to not onlyl watch it, but keep it on the air, why not roll the dice and give them what they want? And the best part is, we’ll get a whole season at once, so they can create a stronger overarching storyline, something I always thought was weak about TSCC. All I’m saying is if they do a third season on DVD, hell yea I’ll Netflix it.
